When we hear the word cottage the first thing that comes to mind is a small version of a family home but when we say cabin, we tend to see a small structure mainly used as temporary shelter. Some prefer a cabin and some prefer a cottage, this basically depends on how much space you have and the type of setting your stand or plot has. To those who know, a cottage is the better investment. That is because a cabin is small whilst a cottage is big and exudes a homelier feel.
As your children grow, you may need your own space or they might need theirs. Eventually the children will move out to their own homes and you may decide to rent the cottage out. In addition, cottages make the best guest wings and give additional space to accommodate guests. So if you have to host a number of people, you will not stress about where they will sleep. This gives both you and the guests your own space hence privacy. It will also not be bothersome to people who prefer their own space to have tenants yet still have that space to themselves.
So if you decide to have one on your property, make it the perfect little cottage. It will earn you more if you decide to rent it out later. It will be a home for your children for some time in the future too. So when you decide to build it, make it an excellent work of architecture. Cottages look the greatest with the open plan concept as this makes them more spacious and airy. Keep in mind that cottages can be big than four rooms.
A cabin, even though smaller, is good when you host outdoor events. You can have a mini kitchen and bar to serve people from and not dirty your house. People can also use the cabin for relaxing on hot summer days, just to catch some air especially if the cabin is airy and has large windows. In winter a cabin can also be made cosy and warm so that on those cold wintery days you feel like chilling with the family, you just make use of the fireplace and hot chocolate then you are good to go.
Remember to check if it is allowed for you to have a cottage or cabin in your town or suburb. Some do not allow for these due to limited space for instance where there is the use of septic tanks therefore making the space too small for the inclusion of a cottage or cabin. Take heart if these are the regulations, either way Homefill is here and we will build your dream house the way you have always dreamt it and better taking into account your needs.
