Lighting has now become a major factor when designing a house, both due to energy saving and style. People are now moving to lights that are environmentally friendly consuming less energy. It is also essential to allow in as much natural light as possible so that these lights are used only when there is need.
Down lights
Down lights look good in the kitchen where there is much need for light in every corner of the room. In the kitchen also, under cabinet lighting is becoming trendy. This provides all work spaces with lighting as well as accent the gadgets on work tops. Down lights will also look good in hallways and passages of the house.
Chandeliers
These are perfect if hung over a dining room table, the living area and foyers. The sizes must be proportional to the space available for greater effect. Halogen recessed features help in accentuating chandeliers by bringing out its splendor.
Wall Lamps
These are perfect for the staircase and passage ways. They could be recessed lighting and when there is little space, track lighting is the best. Track lighting can also be used to make an emphasis on a particular feature.
